As a former owner of two VW bugs, a '50 and a '61, what aroused my curiosity is the non-VW 'bump' on the engine compartment cover,the 'hood' of this rear-engined auto. I suspect it houses a supercharger or even a non-VW engine, which could possibly make it a 'pocket rocket' and maybe explain the NASA sticker.
