A fern frond in it's native habitat of western Washington, just barely starts to open, still nestled with other fronds surrounding it. A nearby tree has dropped spring growth making it appear that the fern has donned a headdress.
The image has soft golden, browns and green colors, and is finished in a painterly style with texture.
